I’m often asked the question: â€Å"What do you want to do in college? † or â€Å"What do you want to do after college? † and these often weary questions always lead back to the one question that I truly struggle with: Where do I see myself in the future? Ive always been a worrying person and despite the â€Å"what-ifs† that cross my mind from time to time, I try to remember that there are certain things that I can control and many things that I simply can’t, like, whether or not I will see tomorrow. However, if I could imagine my life without the what-ifs, and if I had complete control over my destiny, it would be fairly simple. Ten years from now I would be twenty-seven years old, graduated from college, financially secure, settling down with the person to spend the rest of my life with, and set within a stable environment both socially and spiritually. Though, it’s usually not like that. Our lives are a trial and life is unexpected. As Paulo Coelho said: â€Å"We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen. † So, as I step into this world, realistically, where do I see myself in ten years? Quite honestly, I have no idea! I would like to think that Ive stopped worrying and to know that I can look back over the last ten years and feel that I haven’t turned into the emotionally broken shell of a human being that I have seen many people become. I want to see that Ive never lost my love and ambition for something better.
